Does our group have to contribute £100 from its own funds?
No – groups are encouraged to involve their members, families, churches and communities in raising the money. You are not expected to use your existing group funds.
What happens if we raise less than £100?
£100 is our suggested group target, but every eligible donation will still contribute to the campaign. We would rather your group joined in and raised what it could than felt unable to participate.
Can we raise more than £100?
Absolutely! £100 is the starting target, not a limit. Every additional donation will support Girls’ Brigade’s work, and the group with the highest verified fundraising total will receive the PGL weekend trip.
When does the campaign take place?
The Big Give Women & Girls Match Fund runs from 6 to 13 October 2026. We will confirm the precise opening and closing times in the campaign pack sent to participating groups.
Can we begin fundraising before 6 October?
You can plan and promote your fundraising activity before the campaign begins. However, eligible donations must be made through the official Big Give campaign page during the campaign period. Please read the campaign guidance before collecting or paying in any money.
How will donations be attributed to our group?
Participating groups will receive clear instructions to share with supporters. Donors must follow these instructions so that their donation can be correctly attributed to your group. Only verified donations attributed to your group will count towards the PGL prize.
Can we collect cash?
Only eligible online donations made through the official Big Give platform can unlock match funding. Please follow the payment guidance in your campaign pack before collecting cash or holding a fundraising activity.
Can our church support us?
Yes. Churches are an important part of the Girls’ Brigade community, and we would love groups to involve them in the challenge. Your church could share the campaign, hold a fundraising activity or encourage members to donate through your group’s campaign link.
What happens when the match-funding pot runs out?
Donations can only be doubled while match funding remains available. Additional donations will still support Girls’ Brigade and will count towards your group’s fundraising total if they are made through the official page during the campaign and can be correctly attributed, subject to the full terms and conditions.
What does the winning group receive?
The highest-fundraising group will receive a free weekend trip at a PGL UK centre for 12 young people and two leaders. Read more about this here.
How will we know who is leading?
We will share campaign progress and fundraising updates during the week. Final totals will only be checked and verified after the campaign closes before the winning group is announced.
