Volunteers’ Week Resources for Girls’ Brigade Groups

news

Volunteers' Week 2026 takes place from 1 to 7 June. At Girls' Brigade, we are proud to have a volunteer base of almost 2500 people across the UK! Without these individuals, the work we do to provide safe spaces for girls and young women to have fun, make friends, and build upon their faith, would not be possible.

An annual UK-wide campaign, Volunteers' Week celebrates the contributions of volunteers. It is so important to highlight the value of volunteering and the impact it has on the UK. 14.2 million in the UK have formally volunteered at least once a month, and 25 million people have volunteered informally. These staggering numbers reflect how important volunteering is, adding £4.6 billion in productivity gains to the UK economy in 2024.

With over 300 groups across the UK, our work at Girls' Brigade is made possible by volunteers giving their time. Whether it's a Helper or Leader who allow weekly group meetings to take place, or a Network Executive Member who help lead and oversee our work, every individual helps to make up the family that is Girls' Brigade.

If you would like to take some time to appreciate volunteers across the country at your next Girls' Brigade meeting, we have created some volunteering themed resources for you to enjoy!
