Self-worth – equipping teenage girls

Programme materials

The resource downloadable below has been produced to help you run a practical session with the girls you work with to address issues around cultivating self-worth.

It’s supported by 5 video clips of GB’s President Rachel Gardner equipping you to run the session and related to each section of the resource.

A quick introductory clip sets the scene for looking at cultivating self-worth in young women.

Video clip 1 aims to equip you to think about how we can engage girls in beginning to feel safe in acknowledging their emotions.

Video clip 2 aims to equip you to think about how we can equip girls to understand their emotional needs and why it’s important to express them in healthy ways.

Video clip 3 aims to equip you to think about how we can empower girls with tools and resources to help them manage their own emotional well-being.

Video clip 4 aims to equip you to think about how we can encourage girls to enjoy celebrating each person’s unchangeable God-given value.

I’ve Got Your Back, which you can show to introduce the theme as a discussion starter before starting the activities in the resource.

This resource also links to the koko film koko explores: self-harm, which you can show to introduce the theme as a discussion starter before starting the activities in the resource.

It can be used with a resource to equip leaders on the same issue.
