New CEO for GB Ministries

news

GB Ministries has appointed a new CEO – Judith Davey-Cole.

Judith starts work at GB tomorrow (6 December) and replaces Jules Murdy in the role.

She says ‘I’m delighted to be taking up this post. The role brings together wonderfully my faith and my passion for advocating for women and girls.

‘Even today women and girls still struggle to live full lives and achieve their full potential using their God-given talents. Research shows that the cost-of-living crisis disproportionately affects women and girls, and we still have a gender pay gap. There are pressures on girls and young women to look and behave in particular ways, and many opportunities can be closed off to them. There are all kinds of blocks and barriers.

‘Yet we also know that if we build confidence, empower, equip, and enable girls, it’s good for them and it’s also good for our families and communities. And that’s exactly what Girls’ Brigade does – develops generations of inspiring women who are motivated by their faith.’

Judith is an experienced CEO who brings a wealth of experience. She’s passionate about empowering girls and women, has a strong strategic approach and networking skills which will be key for the role moving forward. She’s also very experienced in safeguarding and is current Chair of the Methodist Church’s Safeguarding Committee.

Judith has previously been Chief Executive and unitary board member of The Advocacy Project and was voted by Industry Era Women’s Leaders as one of the 10 most inspiring women leaders in 2021 – https://iera-womenleaders.com/Judith-Davey-Cole-CEO-of-The-Advocacy-Project-Most-Inspiring-CEOs-of-2021.php

Chair of the GB Ministries’ Trustee Board Jo Greengrass says ‘We’re thrilled that Judith has stepped forward to lead us in delivery of our 2027 strategy and know that you’ll hold Judith in your prayers as she steps forward for “such a time as this”.’

Judith is replacing current Director Jules Murdy who is retiring in January. Jules has been Director for 6 years and, before that, was Chair of the Trustee Board between 2012 and 2017, a trustee between 2009 and 2012.

Jules says ‘It’s been a privilege to serve God through the work of GB and I thank you all for the support you have given to me whilst in this role. I know that through God’s perfect timing, and the appointment of Judith, GB will continue to grow and impact the lives of girls and young women for many years to come.’
