ICGB Round Up!

news

From 8 to 13 March, 10 delegates attended the International Conference for Girls' Brigade (ICGB) in the Cook Islands. The conference involved opening and closing ceremonies, business sessions, workshops and inter-fellowship discussions and feedback.

This was a great opportunity for delegates from around the world to network, support, and pray for each other over the week. One delegate, Hayley, states 'the benefits of building these bonds and inter-fellowship links are undeniably important, they are an opportunity to learn from each other and help with gaps in knowledge or expertise.'

The delegates from Girls' Brigade England & Wales shared their highlights from ICGB, and the key takeaway from this experience was that it opened GBEW volunteers' eyes to the wider community that they are a part of. One delegate, Summer, stated 'I enjoyed meeting lots of different people from different countries as it made me realise just how big of a community we have within Girls' Brigade International.' Another delegate, Lucie, states 'it was an opportunity to be open with other leaders and notice the similarities we have around the world, despite being so far apart from one another.' GBEW Trustee Jo tells us 'it struck me how we were 'the same, but different' there are international, Fellowship, Country, and Local challenges in what we do but we were all there for one reason - trusting in God, trusting in his word and the belief that he has placed us to great things with girls and young women across the world.'
