In addition to 40 new programmes we have produced, covering a range of topics from Gender Equality to Faith and Environmental Justice, we have recently developed two new programmes in correlation with this project.
These programmes, Military Families and Service & Defence, along with our complete collection of resources, were produced with accessibility in mind, and offer adaptations in order to suit a range of ages and abilities.
The Military Families programme resources aim to shine a light on the vital role played by so many men and women in the Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force. For girls and young women with family members in the forces, this programme encourages them to share their loved ones’ experiences with pride, with the intent of helping others to develop a better knowledge of the work that the UK military does to bring about peace and stability all across the world.
Each programme consists of five sessions, each including a spiritual, skill, and social element, to nurture discussion, reflection, and fun. The Military Families programme covers themes of ‘Belonging When Things Change’, ‘Courage and Service’, and ‘Hope, Home, and Community’.
The Service & Defence programme aims to educate young people on the importance of the military, the people it is made up of and their roles, and the need for support. The material includes sessions on ‘What Is The Military For?’, ‘Who Serves? People, Diversity, and Belonging’ and ‘Ethics, Peace, and Difficult Decisions’.
