Bristol hosts Build Hope breakfast

Local youth workers, church leaders and politicians were invited to a Build Hope breakfast in Bristol last week.

On Thursday 17 October, Girls’ Brigade Ministries (GBM) ran this event at St Michael’s Church, in Stoke Gifford. Local youth workers, church leaders and politicians were invited to join GBM for a breakfast of bacon rolls and croissants and to hear about the expansive work GBM carries out in turning up the volume of hope for girls and young women. Youth workers with no previous background in GB, as well as Bristol Lord Mayor Jos Clark, came to learn about the ways in which GBM works to empower and transform lives of children and young people. Carol de-Beger, Deputy District Team Leader, says

"The Build Hope breakfast showcased the opportunities GB offers to girls, young women, churches and the community. I felt huge pride to be part of such a robust ministry. Our guests were also able to offer their valuable insight into areas of need for girls in Bristol."

GB’s Bristol Development Worker Florence Dickinson says

‘We also took time to reflect, through prayer and worship, on the areas of Bristol which need to receive the transformative touch of God, as well as give thanks for the areas in which His work is being carried out."
