Awards all around at 3rd Sutton

news

On Friday 24 June 3rd Sutton had their first awards evening in two years.

The group was given a donation to purchase a polo shirt for every member who didn’t have so it’s lovely to hear that they all looked so smart in their uniform.

The young people were awarded the badges they had done since September 2021 and if they did not have one, were given a badge bag to put them on too! They also all received a Platinum Jubilee badge. A special award was also given out in the form of a Jack Petchey award, which was given to one member for her commitment to attending Girls’ Brigade. The awards were presented by the vice-president of the District, Joyce East.

The group used the occasion to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee too and made it the theme of the event. The groups’ chaplain, Vivienne gave a short word and lots of the parents came and supported it.

Just a few days after the event, four young leaders from the group were given their awards. One member, after waiting since before the COVID-19 pandemic to recieve it, was very pleased to get her award.
