37th Bristol were VIPs at residential event

37th Bristol were pleasantly surprised recently when the arrived at PGL Beam House, in Devon, to find that they were the only group onsite!

The group were ‘treated like royalty’ during their stay, with all staff to themselves and plenty of helpings at mealtimes too!

High ropes, rifles, archery, zip wire, trapeze, problem-solving, street surfing, fencing, bodyboarding, campfire, and quizzes were all on the itinerary for the trip. They had amazing weather while they were away, enjoyed special treats like ice cream breaks, and even crept outside in pyjamas one evening to star-gaze!

Team Leader Amy says ‘Some of the activities we took part in were really hard, on your physical & mental well-being, (high platforms & not much footing space). However, this group of girls dug deep and encouraged each other to try and complete each task to that girl’s or leader’s achievable goal. At some point over the weekend, at least one activity challenged a girl & leader in a different way, whether that be going into the sea or climbing a high pole, jumping off a platform into a void, or firing an arrow, we knew that not only did our harnesses have our backs but God was with us in the fun we had and especially through the challenging times.’
