2nd Halifax complete Christmas challenge

news

Members of 2nd Halifax were set a chocolatey challenge over the Christmas period and smashed their goal!

Before the group finished meeting for the Christmas holidays, each girl took home a Smarties tube with the grueling task of eating all the chocolate inside – how tough! Once the tubes were empty, each girl was given the trickier challenge of returning the tubes with some coins inside.

The coins would be donated to The Smiles Foundation, a Christian charity that works in Romania with disadvantaged children, families, minority groups, the homeless, disabled, abused, and the elderly. The CEO of the charity, Kevin Hoy, is a former Boys’ Brigade member and the Pastor at 2nd Halifax is a trustee of the charity.

The challenge fit perfectly with the Our Friends badgework the young people were completing and the group raised a huge £115!
