1st Burnham’s compassion project

news

1st Burnham n:gage members' latest badgework has been about compassion. While working on the badge, they discussed how they can show compassion.

The girls themselves came up with the idea of showing people they don’t know how much they care by raising money for them and supporting a charity.

The group chose to raise money for the Moroccan earthquake appeal and asked everyone in the group to bring in old toys and books for a fundraising event. The n:gage members spent the following week setting up stalls and invited parents to browse the stalls.

The group raised a fantastic £125 which will be sent to UNICEF and books and toys left over were sent out to toddler groups, schools and charity shop where they’ll be given a second life.
